artist statement

Rosario´s art focusses on the impacts of both nature and urban existence on the human condition. Her work explores themes of memory, presence, and the human capacity to absorb, reflect, and translate the marks left by time and environment on the human experience.

Her intervention on recycled material and appropriated objects are an important element of all her creative work. In life’s leftovers she sees value, beauty, and untold stories, which call her to become an “archaeologist” and discover, amplify, and interpret the traces and marks left by time. She also draws inspiration from her own extensive, personal archive of still photographs and film negatives that she has either personally created or collected from others over the years.

In parallel with her art pieces, she is working on the research project "Urban Life and Nature". She began this project during her residency at Artport in Tel Aviv in 2022, and continued it at KBG in Berlin in 2024 and Residency Unlimited in New York in 2025.
